The 2012 ICAST Show has finally come to an end and I am glad to say we were able to introduce a lot of our new SW products! They should all be released around November of this year so please stay tuned!

After coming back to California, I immediately went fishing using the new lures! The lures we introduced at the ICAST included the Flash Pointer 115, Blade Cross 110 and Pointer 100, 128, SR/SSR. I put those in my tackle box and headed to the Southern California beach wondering how it can be used and what type of fish I may be able to catch with them. I’ve actually filmed my whole fishing experience with the new lures this time.

So please stay tuned for my next Daily Flash Minnow report! Although, I will post up some images this time!!!

The film will be on Enjoy DVD and some will be uploaded to Youtube as well.

NEWS!! KJ New Color

Filed under: Lucky Craft USA Blog — admin @ 7:07 pm July 9, 2012

ICAST is finally starting this week. But I want to introduce some new product in advance! There are 5 new color additions to the Kelly Jordon designed “Kelly J” collection! It includes 2 herring patterned colors which Kelly likes a lot and 3 gill patterns which comes from the lure efficiency. At the ICAST show, I will try my best to do some video editing at the spot so I can post it up for everyone to see! Please stay tuned!!

Skeet: Green Bay Challenge

The Green Bay Challenge tournament went a lot better for me than I thought it would. I spent most of the first practice day frustrated because the smallmouth were all bunched up in a few little areas that it seemed everyone in the field found.

NEWS!! Big Opti

Filed under: Lucky Craft USA Blog,Research and Development — admin @ 7:08 pm July 5, 2012

Well, well, the month of July is finally here!! The ICAST show is just around the corner. And that means it is the season for new product sales. The new items are continuing to come in!!

The next product I want to introduce is the big Opti lures. The newly created lures are the 7in long Opti Shad and 8in long Victory Tail. These came out perfect for Pike fishing. Unfortunately these lures are still in the process of testing. The samples were created just last week and we will have to carefully test it out for about half a year before we make it an official selling product. I’m sorry this had nothing to do with the ICAST show. At first I wanted a shad that can be used just like a Flash Minnow, but it ended up becoming something that is very good for Pikes. So please stay tuned for this upcoming product!

DFM: New Rod

Filed under: Salt Water Fishing,The Daily Flash Minnow — admin @ 6:41 pm

My report today is about our new rod! For casting? For FM? It is called the ESG2!

This rod is a limited edition model in Europe and it can not be purchased in America or Japan (It comes in 2 sizes: 8 ft’ 7 & 7ft ’7). Since fishing in Europe often target big size fishes such as Predators, this rod is made a bit stronger than the ESG rod I usually use. This slight difference will definitely make a difference in your fishing. So I immediately took the 2 different rods (my usual and the new rod) to the nearest ocean and cast with the FM110 to compare. In result… I felt like there are individual preferences and thoughts, but when I cast the new harder/stronger rod (8’7/ESG2) with the FM110, it goes exactly where I want it to go and even goes a little farther than normal. If I were to say what the biggest difference between the two is – the new rod feels a lot sturdier where you can easily cast bigger lures such as the FM130MR & PT140. If I can get a fish to bite, I’ll be able to have more opinions on its actual strength and stability level, but unfortunately it wasn’t that easy… This will definitely be my next project. I’ll be very happy if I can catch a Halibut with this new rod!

NEWS!! Team Sulpesca

Today I received a message from my friend from Portugal. Recently our pro anglers such as Brent & Skeet have entered the international competition held there and our Lucky Craft representing team in Portugal participated in this tournament landing in 4th place. At the recent EFTTEX Show, I got to have a meeting with them and talked about our dreams and wishes for the near future. This is such great news and I am extremely happy.

DFM: The BigUP is HOT~!

Filed under: Salt Water Fishing,The Daily Flash Minnow — admin @ 7:20 pm

I went on my very first saltwater fishing with one of my fishing partners, Taka. It was actually his first time going Halibut fishing so rather going to a place where you may catch large size Halibuts like Bolsa Chica, I went to a place where you have a better chance catching more fishes like Long Beach.

On this day, there were less tide movements, so I assumed it would be a bit tougher to catch anything. However, Taka who has a lot of Bass fishing experience, was amazingly good at examining the bottom area and sensing the slight lure actions.

As I assumed, I wasn’t able to catch anything while Taka caught 4 Halibuts with the BigUP lure (in white colors). He caught small size Halibuts one after another!! They all came biting while he was slow retrieving. He enjoyed his very first Halibut fishing a lot and now he goes almost everyday! I won’t lose next time!!
