Raney and I(Peter) went out to one of your usual spots for halibut to test out the new Flash Pointer 115. We were pretty excited about having these new lures to test out and extremely grateful to Lucky Craft for letting us be testers. I tied on the Sexy Blue Smelt color while Raney used American Shad color. For technique, we used a steady and slow retrieve and we notice these lures have a different wobble compared to the popular Flash Minnow 110SP. The wobble was more subtle and the whole body would go side to side unlike the Flash Minnow 110SP where the wobble was in the tail. I ended up catching one halibut and Raney caught 2.
We tried the Flash Minnow 110SP and the CIF Pointer 100SP for no fish. So we guessed that they wanted the more subtle action in the new Flash Pointer 115. They are great lures and very effective when halibut aren’t as active. One of the great things about them is that they go deeper than the Flash Minnow 110SP but not as deep as theCIF Pointer 100SP, so it would stay in the strike zone where halibut strike in the spot we were fishing.

It’s been a little while since I put a blog together, sorry for that. But, I’ve been trying to focus on the tournament we had last week at the Mississippi River in LaCrosse Wis.

Lucky Craft has finally come out with an Alabama Rig. It is called the “Bevy Rig”. The word “Bevy” also used in our Bevy Shad item means herd and/or gathering. The Bevy Series has its very own meaning – to have high power in luring/gathering fish. So if I were to directly translate “Bevy Shad” it would be “gather fish, small fish”. Doesn’t that sound great!? And finally a perfect lure for that word came into this world. Yes, the Alabama Rig which presents itself as a herd of baitfish!! And this powerful lure was created by Lucky Craft as well. The Bevy Rig is finally on sale!!

A new Opti Shad color has been created! It is the Sexy Smelt color which is a very popular color in California. It came out to look very nice!
