By the way, last week in the Southern area, I also practiced punching. I usually don’t use worms due to my industry, so I thought here was my chance for some intensive punching training!! Well, I ended up doing about 10 casts and only caught 1 and was pretty satisfied with that. So that was it!!
Last week, somewhere in the Southern area, I went fishing for some lipless crankbait training. The lipless crankbait is great to use during the spring and fall season. If you just continuously let the lure swim at the edge of the weeds, and continue to do so until you hit a school of fish, you will catch a bunch! The LV500 jumps quite well, so it is the best to use it after the school of fish settles and moves to a deeper range. If you don’t know where the fishes are, the LV100 is great to use since it won’t get caught on any obstacles. If you do know where the fishes are, the LV RTO 150 is great to use – you can let it jump and retrieve and it even has a swaying action. This training must be held every year!!!
This time, I went Bass fishing in Lake Elsinore with our regional staff, Brian & Kevin. This is my first time fishing at this location and to explain the general structure of this place – there are fences extending towards the lake from the backyard of a private house. There are rocks scattered everywhere so my fishing technique was to aim for the Bass that are around those rocks.
My very first bite of the day was with the LV-RTO200 Vibration (Chart color) and I casted very close along the fences. I waited for 2 seconds and started retrieving and got the bite! It has been so long since my last Bass fishing so I kind of panicked & accidentally let it go. But I was able to confirm its existence & location so that was a relief. However, after that I wasn’t able to get any more bites so I decided to change my lure to theSpinnerbait Redemption 1/2oz! I then got a bite, but my retrieve was too slow and couldn’t pull out the Bass from the structure area! It swam under the fence and my line broke!! I let another one go… I wasn’t able to catch any this day, but I have to say – Bass fishing is so fun! And if u catch any, it’s even more fun!!
Brian who kindly took me on this fishing trip caught 5 with a vibrating lure, jig & spinnerbait. Just as I thought, he was an expert!
LAKE LANIER – It shouldn’t come as a surprise that an event won by the youngest angler to ever hoist the Forrest Wood Cup would be one that left many veteran anglers scratching their heads, wondering “What happened to my fish?”
Maybe that’s a little bit of an exaggeration, but when the deepwater bite vanishes on Lanier, you can believe anglers by the hordes will be scrambling. As it turned out, the most stable bite was found shallow by anglers keying on largemouth, a surprise not many could have foreseen at the outset of the event.
Fishing in Northern Califonia seems to be going very well. Especially in Clear Lake & Lake Sonoma, I heard the BDS & LV are catching a lot of fish!! As their fishing pattern, the Glass Cranking was used which is perfect for the summer. Take a look at that bite! I’m so jealous.
Today I received a message from my friend from Portugal. Recently our pro anglers such as Brent & Skeet have entered the international competition held there and our Lucky Craft representing team in Portugal participated in this tournament landing in 4th place. At the recent EFTTEX Show, I got to have a meeting with them and talked about our dreams and wishes for the near future. This is such great news and I am extremely happy.
It’s been a little while since I put a blog together, sorry for that. But, I’ve been trying to focus on the tournament we had last week at the Mississippi River in LaCrosse Wis. skeetreeseinc.com
