A Change-Up

Well one thing is for sure…. when you make fishing and hunting shows for a living, you are at the mercy of the weather. I was scheduled to head down to Pickwick Lake in Tennessee today at noon so that we could begin shooting tomorrow with Lance Walker of Browning Eyewear who is “The Man” on that lake.

The Big News

Brent Ehrler Blog

Kelley and I found out a few weeks ago that we were going to be parents in about 6 months. We are really excited about the new addition to our family and thought it was time to spread the good news. We also know we are having a boy. Looks like my shopping is going to change from Tackle Stores to Babies ‘R Us. Anyone know of a diaper company looking to sponsor an angler? I am kidding of course, but the thought of a little one around the house is pretty exciting news for us.

On a much lower level of news, I am headed our to Okeechobee. You just donšt realize how big this country is until you spend 3 or 4 days in a car and still havenšt reached the other coast. I did make a pit stop in Dallas for a meeting but, I am back on the road to Florida now.

Išm set to arrive in Florida on late Friday and then Išll spend Saturday organizing my boat and getting my tackle ready. Official prefish starts on Sunday and Išll be out there when the sun comes up to try and unlock the mysteries of the Big O. I expect a LV-500 and a flip bait to come into play but therešs no telling. Florida weather changes quickly and the bite changes even faster. I try to have a game plan before I arrive, but Išll keep an open mind and łlet the fish tell me˛ what they want. I kind of laugh when I hear people say, łlet the fish tell you˛, but it is true. Every fish I catch or bite I shake off tells me a little piece of the story of what is going on even if they arenšt actually łtelling me˛ anything.

Following the event at Okeechobee I will be headed to Arkansas where I will drop off the rig and then fly home. In mid February, Išll be in Chicago working a boat show for Ranger, so if you are in the area make sure to stop by and talk some fishing, but for now itšs 10 and 2 and eyes on the road for another 1000 miles of U.S. Highway 10.

Today a wonderful Christmas gift or in Japan, it would be called a year-end gift, was delivered to me from Skeet Reese. It was a live lobster! I was very surprised!! It’s very fresh!! I immediately grilled it in the corner of our warehouse and ate it. The lobster was so tender and delicious. It is such a great season. Thank you very much Skeet Reese!!

This is the Daily Flash Minnow report from Japan! Special edition!

After coming back from my business trip to Japan, I have written a few fishing reports regarding my fishing experiences, tournaments, and new product information – all divided up into 8 reports. And may I ask; how was it? To be able to write a more constructive, understanding, and deep report I want to continue to study more on the article contents.

Well, in this special edition I would like to talk a little bit about the fishing tackle shops I visited the Kantou region. The tackle shops I want to introduce are all places where our managing director and I had actually gone for business. The other tackle shops we weren’t able to come around, we would humbly like to visit next time.
