今回は特別企画として、3弾に分けたＴＸ日記の第2弾になります。日本人アングラーなら誰でも知っているチャンプ事、T.O大森貴洋さんの所に滞在させていただきました。
大森さんといえば、2004年バスマスタークラシックの初の日本人優勝者！幼い少年時代の夢を叶えた選手でもある。めったに無い機会なので大森さんに、今シーズン特に気を使い取り組んだ事など聞いて見ることにした。特に気をつけた事は、食事の管理と生活リズム。まず、栄養のバランスを考えた食事の取り方、炭酸･ジュースと言った糖分の含まれている飲料水は飲まない事、自分のペースをきっちり守る事。自分のペースというのは、睡眠時間や生活リズムの事であり、規則正しい生活を取り組んでいる。
また、釣りに関しては釣りの知識を常他から学び進化・変化する事だと語る。1時間の熱いトークが続いた。講演ができるぐらい熱く・真の通ったお話を伺うことができた！やはりプロ語る一言は心に響く！
特別映像を撮影してきたので、年末配送予定のLuckey Craftネットワークメンバーさん限定のEnjoyDVD12月号にてご覧いただける事になっていますので、楽しみしていてください。

This is part 2 of my trip to Texas. Any Japanese angler would know Takahiro Omori, a widely known pro angler who also kindly welcomed us to his place.
Takahiro Omori is the champion of the 2004 Bassmaster Classic and is also the very first Japanese champion! He has achieved his dream he kept as a young boy. I took advantage of this rare opportunity to ask some questions to Mr. Omori. I decided to ask him what he’s been most careful about and what he worked on this season. He answered that he’s been the most careful with his diet and his lifestyle. He’s been taking very nutritious balanced food and keeping the correct lifestyle for his body. He doesn’t drink any liquid that has sugar in them such as sodas and juices. He also maintains a good sleeping habit and life structure.
And for fishing, he says it is important to keep obtaining information from other sources and to be able to keep evolving and changing due to the circumstances. This passionate talking continued for about an hour. I was so grateful to hear these passionate and very meaningful stories from Mr. Omori! It is very inspirational hearing from a pro.
We had also filmed a special interview with him and it is planned to be sent by the end of this year. It is exclusively for the Lucky Craft Network members and will be seen on the December edition of the Enjoy DVD, so please stay tuned!
In this rare opportunity of mine, I also got an autographed shirt from Mr. Omori!! Very thrilled!!
Mr. Omori, I will be looking forward next year for some outbreak!! I will go root for you next year again!!!

今回は特別企画として、3弾に分けＴＸ日記と題して書きます。
ケリーと言えば、全米で最も激戦なB.A.S.Sエリートツアープロの一人でもある。今回は、釣りでなくケリーが結婚したとの本人からの連絡があり、ＴＸまで急遽、お祝いに行ったのである。

いつも、紳士なケリー！私服はセンスの良いウエスタンブーツ！車は、僕も憧れるツアー用ＴＯＹＯＴＡ
今回は、奥様が私用の為、同席できすＴＸで有名なステーキレストランで食事をし、ワイン2本をさっらと飲み、楽しいひと時が過ぎていった。（ケリー幸せ太りかな？？気持ちぽっちゃり）
結婚もし来年には家族が増えるとの事なので、来期の気合の入ったお父さんケリーに期待したいと思う！

This time, I would like to talk about my trip to Texas. I had split my stories into 3 parts (so please stay tuned!)

Kelly Jordon is one of nation’s most contested Bass Elite Tour pros. But this time it wasn’t about fishing. We received a call from Kelly stating that he has gotten married! As soon as possible, we rushed to Texas to celebrate this wonderful event.

As usual Kelly is always gentleman-like and has an amazing sense of style with his western boots! And his car used for touring is the TOYOTA that I admire. His newly wife sadly wasn’t able to make it, but we had a great time at a very famous steak restaurant in Texas. We opened 2 bottles of wine and the wonderful time went by very fast. He’s gotten married and by next year he will have an additional member in his family. We have much hope for him as a dad next year!

今回は、釣行リポートでばなく、いつもこのブログを読んでくれている方からのリクエストで、南カルフォルニア周辺ＳＨＯＰ（釣具店）の紹介をして欲しいとの事で、今後は釣行リポートとは別にＳＨＯＰ紹介をしていきたいと思います。（淡水・海水問わず）

初の1店舗目は、Ｓａｎｄｙ御贔屓のニューポートビーチにある「アングラーズセンター」である。

On today’s report, instead of talking about my usual fishing trip, I will like to talk about fishing tackle shops around the southern California area due to a request through my blog. And I would like to continue to introduce more tackle shops (Fresh and/or salt water tackles) from now on.

My very first fishing tackle shop visit is one of my favorite, called the “Anglers Center” located in Newport Beach. In the store, they carry many varieties of hard lures as well as jigging products, rods, hooks, and much more! And of course, they have an outstanding collection of the Lucky Craft CIF series lures. And the best part of it is that the workers are all so very kind. When I went there one day looking to buy a new reel, they helped me out so much. They said to me, “Since it is better that I know your target fish and what type of rod you have, don’t buy the reel today and please bring it next time you come in”. I thought, “Wow, they are so thoughtful and generous!” I am  now definitely a regular there!!

カタリナ島 Part 2

先週のCatalina Part 2になります。約3時間の移動、竹内氏と2人での釣行となる。
始めに、120DDをキャストし低速・中速・高速で巻き、泳ぎのチェックする事で当日の潮の流れ・波の影響でどう泳ぎが変わるのかをチェックし釣行スタート、竹内氏が表層狙い（FM110/130）・僕がレンジの深い所を狙い(FM120DD)で始めた。数キャストで竹内氏に大型ボニートがHit！！そして、僕にもHit~!
（結果・・この日のBigフィッシュにもう一歩のサイズを釣り上げた）

時間が過ぎ日差しが厳しくなると、表層よりも深い所を狙っていた、FM120DDに次々とボニートが連発・・爆釣Hitであった。そして、この事により新発見をすることに！！知らず知らずのうちに、リトリーブの速度が低速から中速で巻く事よって、今までのFlash Minnow110.130のアクションでは想像ができない
不規則な泳ぎをする事に気付いた。120DDを中速で巻くことよって、通常のフラッシング・ローリングに加えて、左右に大きく・鋭く不規則に泳ぐ事によって、魚に対して高アピールをした結果が爆釣を引き起こしたと考える。また、深い所引いてこれる利点を活かし、ケルプ地帯にキャストをすると、深場にいるキャリコバスなどもGETする事もできた。万能ルアーになる可能性大のFlash Minnow 120DD!!

“Catalina Island Part 2”

This is the second part of my Catalina Island fishing trip! After a long 3 hours of getting there, Mr. Takeuchi and I started fishing. At first I cast the 120DD and went from low, medium, then to fast retrieving. By checking how the lure swims at each speed, you can see how the tide currents and waves have an effect on it. Mr. Takeuchi started off aiming the surface with the FM110/130) and I aimed in a deeper range with the FM120DD. After only couple casts, Mr. Takeuchi caught a very large Bonito!! And I got a hit too~! (In result… I was so close to getting the Big Fish of the day.)

The time went by and when the sun was starting to go down, I aimed deeper from the surface. And by doing that, with the FM120DD, I kept catching so many Bonitos. And not only that, I discovered something new!! Without realizing, I was retrieving from low to mid-speed with the FM120DD. That is when I realized the lure would swim very irregularly. In a way I’ve never seen such swimming action with the Flash Minnow 110 & 130 before. When retrieving in mid-speed, not only did it do the usual flashing and rolling, it widely swam left in right. When it rapidly swims in such irregular motion, it is thought that it creates a very high appeal towards the fishes, which led me to fishing a lot! And by taking advantage of the capability of it going deep water, I cast towards the kelp beds and was able to catch some Calico Bass which were under bottom areas. The Flash Minnow 120DD has such high potential of being the almighty lure!!

カタリナ島 Part 1

先週の釣行から一週間が経ち、予定していたカタリナ島に釣行が決定した。喜
釣果は後ほどということで・・・まず、初めに少しだけカタリナ島について少し説明をしておきましょう！！
カタリナ島＝正式名所はサンタカタリナ島 (Santa Catalina Island)と言います。島の形は、ひょうたんの様な形をしていて、船または飛行機でしか行くことができない土地である。
アメリカ合衆国カリフォルニア州南部の島であり、ロサンゼルス港から南南西38kmに位置しているため、
旅行で行く場合は、高速船が運航しているので大変便利である。約片道45分から1時間で到着できる。
しかし、釣り目的でカタリナ島に向かうには少し困難「苦痛」であった。片道38km も距離があると言うことは、今回の場合はニューポート（デイビーズロッカー）から出発しての釣行だったため、ポイントまで約3時間も掛かり事になり、今までの経験ではありえない時間を移動しなければならなかった。
そこで、移動時間を利用して今回の釣行で使用する、来春新発売するFlash Minnow120DDの商品紹介や
カラー紹介の為のVideo撮影する事にした。撮影最中、ルアー釣りに興味がある釣人が「お～君達、ラッキークラフトなんだね！」と声を掛けてきて、「僕は、いつもFlash Minnow110を使うんだよ」とラッキー商品のファンが沢山いた。移動までの間、他の釣り場情報や新商品の説明など、ちょっとした営業をする事もでき、移動時間も地元アングラー達とも有効的な時間が過ごせた。
1547年、フアン・ロドリゲス・カブリロが発見し、当時は海賊の根拠地となっていた場所でもあった。
現在は海賊の本拠地ではなく、リゾート地とされていて、新婚旅行でも良く格好のスポットになっている。

“Catalina Island Part 1”

It’s been a week since my last fishing trip and as I mentioned last time, my next destination became Catalina Island! YES!
As for the result, I will mention it at a later time… First, I would like to talk a little bit about Catalina Island!!
Catalina Island = Santa Catalina Island, which is the official name. The island is shaped kind of like a gourd or a pear and you need to either go on a boat or a plane to get there.
It is an island located near the southern California, America. From the Los Angeles port, it is located at south-southwest 38km away. Due to this close distance; they provide fast cruise ships which is very convenient for vacationing. It takes about 45minutes to an hour one way.
However, by going there for fishing purposes, it was a bit more difficult. This time we had to port from Newport (Davey’s Locker), and to get to our fishing point it took us 3 hours! I’ve never experienced such a long way to a fishing area before.
But we wanted to use this time wisely, so we made a film explaining a little bit about the lure we were going to use that day. It was the Flash Minnow 120DD and we talked about its function and color variations. The Flash Minnow 120DD will be sold in Spring of next year. Towards the end of the filming, a fisherman who is interested in lure fishing came up to us and said, “Oh~ you guys are from Lucky Craft!” And then I had told him, “Yes, and I always use this Flash Minnow 110”. There was actually a lot of Lucky Craft fans on the boat!
And fortunately until we arrived at the fishing spot, we were able to gain information on other good fishing locations as well as explaining our new products to some people and did a little bit of business. We got to use our traveling time very productively by getting to know the local anglers.
In the year 1547, Joao Rodrigues Cabrilho discovered this island and at the same time it used to be a pirate’s home base. And this island that used to be a pirate’s base is now a high-class resort where many people come for their honeymoon.

初！ニューポート

今回は、初めてのニューポートから岩場釣りに行ってみる事になった。ニューポートの岩場を約15分ぐらい歩き、やっとの事で先端部分のポイントに到着。釣り人も3人ほどで、「ラッキー！」と思い、一番先端でキャストすることにした。
朝からキャストを繰り返したが、当たりすらなく、撃沈状態です。周りの釣り人もサバが2~3匹釣れる程度で「今日は釣れないな～」と話していた。今回は原因すら掴めない状況・・どうした良いのか？1時を過ぎた所で足取り重く、着た道を引き上げる事にした。せっかくの釣行日を無駄に過ごす訳に行かず、時間のある限り、違う釣り方を練習するために、岩場に向かって左側の内海で初挑戦のＴＯＰルアーアクション練習に励んだ。今回ＴＯＰの練習用ルアーにラッキーで販売している、ガンフィッシュ95で早速、練習をする事にした。これが、意外と難しく面白い！！魚が反応するより、上空の鳥が興味津々のようだ！ＴＯＰの練習をしておけば、バス釣りにも、活用できるかもしれないので、約1時間半ぐらい、スピニングリールでのＴＯＰ練習をし、今回の釣行を終了することにした。
今度は、天候さえ良ければカタリナ島方面に釣行予定なので、乞うご期待！

“First Fishing Trip in Newport!”

This time I went rock fishing for the first time in Newport Beach. I walked about 15 minutes along the rocky tract and finally arrived at the point of the peninsula. There were only about 3 fishermen and I thought, “cool~!”. I then started to cast.
I kept casting since early morning and I didn’t even get a hit. I was in an awful condition. The fishermen around me were only catching about 2 to 3 Mackerels and were disappointingly saying, “can’t really fish today~”. This time I couldn’t even figure out the reason… what do I need to do? After passing 1pm and feeling pretty awful, I decided to go back the road I came from. I didn’t want this fishing day to go to waste, so I started to practice other fishing techniques as long as I could. I head towards the rocky area and on the left hand side there was an inland sea, where I decided to challenge on Top lure actions for the very first time. Surprisingly it was extremely fun!! Instead of the fish reacting to it, the birds in the sky were more curious! If I continue to practice on Top lure actions, it will definitely come in use in Bass fishing. So I kept practicing with a spinning reel for about an hour, then I ended my fishing day.
Next time, as long as the weather is good I will be heading towards Catalina Island for fishing, so please stay tuned for my next trip!

異常気象

約2週間ぶりの釣り！今回カルフォルニア州を襲った異常気象（高温）で近郊の海状況の把握の為、釣行に行くことになった。

当初の想像では、温暖な気候が続いている為、魚の活性が上がり釣行結果も良くなるはず！そんな期待をしながら
前回、ヒラメを釣り上げた、アラミトスベイに再び向かい車を走らせた。

現地に到着すると、予想外の海側から吹く強風が襲う！以前と違い、海面は荒れ・波は強く、潮は2時満潮。
最悪な状況イメージ（ボーズ予想！？）が、頭を過る。今回は、潮も満ちてきているので、より遠くにキャストし
リトリーブの距離を長くし、駈けあがりの所で喰わせたいのでＦＭ130をキャストする事にした。次々とカラーローテションしていくが、水の濁りも酷く、まったく当たりが無く3時間が流れ終了！！結果・・・・ボーズ！現場の状況からすると当然の結果かもしれない。残りの時間がもったいないので、デーリフラッシュミノーをいつも見てくれている皆様だけに！ラッキー新商品ニュース！！！2011年新発売！待望のフラッシュミノー120のDD(ディープダイバー)を発売決定！！早速、試してみる事に、う～～ん！なかなか良い引き抵抗！！ブルブル感もある！良い商品になっていると思われる！待望のフラッシュミノーディープモデル！！実際に店当に並ぶのは来年予定（地域によって異なる）乞うご期待あれ！！

“Abonormal Weather”

It’s been 2 weeks since my last fishing trip! With this extreme weather change that attacked California with this very high temperature and to understand this type of sea condition, I went fishing.

Initially I thought, “Since this hot weather is continuing, it should heighten the activity of the fishes!” With that hope in mind, I caught a Halibut last time and so I continued heading towards Alamitos Bay.

When I arrived at my destination, an unbelievably strong wind came right at me from the ocean! Unlike last time, the sea surface was rough, the waves were strong, and were at a 2 o’clock high tide.
It was in a very bad condition (a thought of no catches!?). This time the tide is rising, so I decided to cast very far and perform a long retrieve. And since I wanted to catch them while they are swimming upwards, I decided to cast the FM130. I kept rotating colors, but the turbidity of the water was really bad. I kept trying for over 3 hours and ended my fishing day!! In result… caught nothing! Well, thinking about the condition of the weather, I guess it was no surprise. Since I had a bit more time, I want to share the audience who reads my Daily Flash Minnow something special! A new Lucky Craft product!!! It is planned to be released in 2011! It is the Flash Minnow 120DD (Deep Diver)! So I tried this new lure out. Hmmmm… a very good pulling resistance!! And there’s a vibrating effect!! I think it’s a great product!! This longing Flash Minnow Deep model!! This will be on display for sale by next year (may vary by location). Please be waiting!!

I am sorry this fishing trip ended with no catches and couldn’t leave any exciting comments! But I would still want to talk about the lures used on this trip. The Pointer 78 (Color: Nishiki), Flash Minnow 130 (Color: Candy Sardine & Metallic Sardine), and finally the new Flash Minnow 120DD (Color: Kibinago).
Flash Minnow is a type of lure that will keep growing. There are so many other colors, so please use these as an example for your very own color rotations.

ロックフィッシュ

今月のフィッシュテーマ「平目」は前回の釣行でＧＥＴができたので、今回は、サンペドロにある22ストリート・ランディングから出かけて見ました。本日の同行者は、以前、全く釣れなかったレドンドで同行したＫ氏とである。

サンペドロから出航し、1時間半！ようやく釣り場に到着！！風も無く船がほとんど揺れなく、船酔いの心配はまったくない！また、今回の乗船人数も10人ぐらいなので、スペースもありそう！期待に胸が膨らむ。

以前（レドンドでの釣行）とは違い、表層の魚がターゲットフィッシュではないので、今回はフラッシュミノーを投げる事ができず、バタフライを使用して、360フィートの底までバタフライを落とし、魚の当りを待つ事にした。

一旦、バタフライを底まで落とすと、小さい当たりではあるが。「コツン！コツン！」と数回、当たりを感じるが潮の流れが速い為、バタフライがすぐに流されてしまい、当たりが無くなる。落とした瞬間の数分が勝負である！！

ポイントを変え再度挑戦！またまた、魚の当りが慌てず少し待ち・・・小さな当りだけに、当たりの感覚に合わせのタイミングが上手くいかないと釣り上げる事がなかなか出来ない。そこで、考えた末に、当たりを感じた瞬間に合わせて見る事にした！結果、次々と釣り上げる事ができた！サイズこそは小さいが・・・おそらく、今回の乗船客の中で一番の数ではないかと思う。二人で「大きいの釣りたいな~!」なんて少し余裕も感じられたが、その後、小さいサイズのが釣り上がる程度で、巨大ロックフィッシュとは巡り会う事ができなかった。

2回目の22ストリートランディングでの釣行だったが、以前釣行した際の当たりと合わせでは、釣れない事がわかり、その日その日で魚の食いつき方も合わせのタイミングも違う事が実感できた！！
フラッシュミノーの出番は無かったが、良い経験ができた釣行でもあった。

“Rockfish”

I was able to catch this month’s fishing theme: catching a Halibut. So this time, I decided to go to San Pedro and departed from 22nd Street Landing. I went fishing with my friend Mr. “K”, who previously went to Redondo Beach with me when we couldn’t catch anything.

We departed from San Pedro and took 1 ½ hour to the fishing spot! There was no wind and the boat barely swayed so we didn’t have to worry about getting motion sickness! On this boat ride, there were only about 10 people on the boat so we also didn’t have to worry about having enough space! I was full of hope and excitement!

Unlike last time in Redondo Beach, our target fish isn’t from the surface area so we weren’t able to use the Flash Minnow. Instead, we used the Butterfly and dropped it 360ft deep underwater and waited until we got a hit.

Once we dropped the Butterfly down to the bottom, we felt couple small hits. But since the waves were going so fast the Butterfly kept streaming away. And that meant no hit. So the couple minutes we had after we drop it was all we got!!

We then changed our spot and tried again! We waited patiently for a hit… We continued getting small hits, but to pull up a fish, it was a little hard because it needed to be the right moment in time. So we gave it a little thought and we decided to pull it up right at the same time we felt a hit! In result, we caught so many! The sizes were small… but I believe out of all the people on the boat, we probably caught the most fishes. We were saying to each other, “I want to catch a bigger fish~!” with much more confidence. But of course, we just kept catching small sizes and wasn’t able to catch any big Rockfish.

This was my 2nd time fishing from the 22 Street Landing, and I learned that using the fishing technique I used last time didn’t work this time. And how you get hits from fishes and the timing of when I need to pull also differs each day!!
I wasn’t able to use the Flash Minnow this time, but I think I had an excellent experience on this fishing trip.

世界中のラッキークラフトファンの皆さま～！Daily Flash Minnow Reportです。
今月のフィッシュテーマ「平目」を釣るべくして、インターネットで検索した情報を元に、ロングビーチにある
アラミトスベイに行ってきました。今日の潮からいくと満潮が正午前と言うことなので、いつもより少し遅めに出発！
現地に到着後、今までとは違う穏やかな波と岩場もレドンドとは違い子供でも歩行可能なエリアであった。

すぐさま、信頼度の高いＦＭ110メタリック系をキャスト！なんと！直後にこれだっ！待ち望んだバイトがあった
最初は、「あれ？ケルプにひっかかったかな？」って思ったけど、「あっ、ヒラメだ」って思って合わせて見る。やっと待望のヒラメがかかった～！誰もいないビーチで大声で叫んでしまいました。笑

開始直後のバイトから2時間経過、ビーチを北から南に往復移動しながら、キャスト繰り返したが反応が無く、再び
今日、釣り上げたポイントに移動！さらに、ＦＭからポインターにルアーとカラーを変更！！
またまた、数キャスト後にＨＩＴ当りが！！本日、2匹目の「ヒラメ」をＧＥＴ！！！これで、公約達成です！！！
2匹目の方が、若干大きく感じられたが、リーガルサイズには達しいなく！リリースすることに・・・
満潮を少し過ぎた時間帯だったので、ポインターにルアー変更したことが若干深いレンジを狙いえるので、釣果に繋がったのではないかと思う!

3週続けて、ヒラメを狙い取り組んできたこの企画！やっと目標を達成する事ができました！
餌よりもハードルアーで！！しかも、フラッシュミノーで釣り上げた事が意味がある！！
今回はエリアは自由で、1匹釣るのが目標だったので、次回は、それぞれヒラメが生息しているといわれるビーチで
釣るもしくは、リーガルを釣ったら達成など少し、目標を高くしてみよう！
それしても！フラッシュミノー以外のルアー！ポインターこれからは、私の1軍ルアーに決定です。

“Hirame Round 3”

Hello all Lucky Craft fans across the world~! It is again time for the Daily Flash Minnow Report.
This month’s fishing theme, as you all know, is to catch a Halibut. I had gotten some information through the internet about a place called Alamitos Bay in Long Beach city. According to today’s tide condition, it will be in high tide right before noon. So I left a little later than usual!
Once I arrived at the location, I realized how different it was compared to other places where the waves were very calm. Unlike Redondo Beach, even the rocky area wasn’t so bad; a child could walk through it.

Immediately, I cast the most reliable FM110 in Metallic Sardine. Then right away! I got a bite that I’ve been longing for. At first I thought, “Huh? Did it get caught in a kelp?” Then I realized, “It’s a Halibut!” I finally caught a Halibut~! In an area where there was absolutely no body, I was screaming for joy by myself. Hahaha

From the bite I got right when I started fishing, 2 hours went by. From North to South I kept going back and forth while I continued to cast, but I got no response. So I decided to go back to the spot where I got my first catch and changed my lure to a Pointer in a different color as well.
Then again, after couple casts I got a HIT!! It was my second Halibut of the day!!! Now I’ve achieved my goal!!!
The second one seems a bit bigger than the first, but it didn’t meet the legal size so I had to release it…
I believe because it was a little bit passed high tide, changing the lure to a Pointer would aim a deeper range and that probably led me to catching one!

After 3 weeks of trying to catch a Halibut, I’ve finally achieved my goal!
Instead of using a bait, with a hard lure!! And it means so much that I caught it with a Flash Minnow!!
This time the area was chosen freely and to catch one Halibut was the goal. So next time I might go fishing at where Halibuts inhabit or maybe I’ll aim higher and try to catch a legal size!
Flash Minnows are such an exceptional lure~! And I’ve decided that Pointers are going to be one of my most reliable lures.

世界中のラッキークラフトファンの皆さま～！Daily Flash Minnow Reportです。
今月のフィッシュテーマ「平目」を釣るべくして、頻繁に釣りをしているレドンドビーチではなく、南に車を走らせ約15分、マラガというポイントへ行ってきました。高級住宅街でよく知られている（通称「パロスベルデス＝ＰＶ」）地域である。この日は、朝から霧が濃く、水も濁っている状況！いわゆる、魚にとってルアーが見つかりにくい状況下での、平目チャレンジであった。ルアーはいつも使用しているＦＭ110メタッリクサーディンではなく、ＦＭ110オーロラサバカラーを使用しキャスト開始！ビーチ沿いに移動をしながらキャストしていく、海から風が幸いにも無くルアーに影響なくロングキャストができる中、反対に波のウネリが強く、思う様にルアーアクションができず、ポイントを岩場付近に変更した。岩場からのチャレンジ、ケルプの少ない所から始めたが、毎キャスト後リトリーブ中に海草くずを引っ掛けてしまいタイムロスをしながらキャストを繰り返したが、結局昼頃になっても釣果が無く断念・・・。またしても、平目に嫌われたのか！？来週は、平目を釣りたい！！今度はどこのポイントに行こうか！検討中・・・

追記：自分のお隣で、平目を5匹釣り上げている人がいた！どの様に釣ったのか、仕掛けを見てみたところ、いわゆるドロップショットと同じパターンでケルプ地帯の裏側にキャストとして、底から15センチぐらいの所で、平目をＧＥＴする方法であった。う～んなるほど、今日の様な状況では、表層に平目が出てこないので、底にいる平目を狙っていることがわかった！！　今度は、ワンダー95を使ってみよう！！ゆ～っくり潜らせて、ＧＥＴするべし！！

“Hirame Round 2”

This month’s fishing theme is to catch some Halibut. Without going to Redondo Beach where I go pretty often, I went 15 minutes more south to a place called Malaga Cove. It is in the Palos Verdes (PV) district where it is known to be a high class residential area. This day, there were thick fogs from early morning and the water quality was very cloudy as well! Meaning this put me in a position where it became a harder challenge for me to catch a Halibut because it was much more difficult for them to see my lures underwater! As for the lure, I decided not to use the usual FM110 Metallic Sardine, and instead used the FM110 Aurora Mackerel color. I started to cast while moving along the beachside and luckily there wasn’t any wind coming from the ocean to effect my lure while performing a long cast. But then the waves were getting pretty strong and it was hard to control my lure actions, so I decided to change my fishing point closer to a rocky tract. And from there, I started off casting to an area with less kelp, but after every cast during my retrieve, it hooks on to a bunch of weeds and I loose time. I kept casting until noon but ended up fishing nothing… Again I was neglected by the Halibuts! By next week I want to catch a Halibut!! To which location should I go next time!? Still researching…

P.S. Right next to me was a man who caught 5 Halibuts! So I was observing how he was able to catch so many and he was basically using the same pattern as a drop shot. He cast behind a kept bed and was able to fish a Halibut about 15cm above from the bottom. Hmmm I see, in a setting like today Halibuts don’t come up to the surface so you got to aim the bottom!! Next time I might try using the Wander 95!! I will slooooowly sink it and try to catch one!!
