世界中のラッキークラフトファンの皆さま～！Daily Flash Minnow Reportです。
久し振りにバス釣りに行ってきました。今回の釣行場所は、南カルフォルニアでもバス釣りが盛んなダイヤモンドバリーレイクに行ってきました。さらに！！今回は、なんとＦＬＷで大活躍中の現役プロ：ブレント・エラー選手（以後ブレント）と一緒に3人で楽しみながら釣りをしてきました。ダイヤモンドバリーと言えば！私にとって、いい記憶の無いレイクで3～4回ほど、釣行に来たことがあったが、１匹釣った事があるぐらいで、バスは居ないと思い込んでいるレイクの１つです。
今日の狙いをブレントに聞いてみると！「バスがボイルをしてる所を探して、キャストしながら行くよ!」っていってくれました。レンジは「トップ中心」で、ガンフィッシュやピロピロ系でした。

まぁ～この狙いが良く的中して、さすがは！プロです！３時間の間に５匹のバスを次々とＧＥＴ!　ブレントがキャストする所には必ずバスがいる状況でした。しかも！サイズはどんどんと大きくなって行くし！ブレントは本当にすごい！
私には、全く当りがなく！そのな時に、さすがに気にしてくれていた、紳士なブレントが簡単にバスを釣らせてあげる言ってくれて、早速その方法でトライしてみた所！なんとすうキャストして、タイミング良く当りに合わせる事ができ！辛くも１匹ＧＥＴ！！今までのバス自己レコード更新です。（3.5LBぐらい）しかし、ハードベイトで釣ってないので、レコード更新は無しになりました。みなさんどんな方法でつったのか検討つきますか？？（コメント欄に正解を書き込んでいただけたら、こっそり教えます！）

時間的に最後のポイントで、皆でびっくりするほどの、とんでもない数のボイルを発見！！！
すかさず！ボイルしているポイントにキャストすると！ブレントと同タイミングでＨＩＴ！！今までには、感じた事のないほどの重い引きと走り回るバス！ドラグは～どうしよう！？緩める！ストライパーバスである！焦らず、ブレントが引き上げるのを待って、ストライパーの引きを楽しみながら、釣り上げました。
二人で比べ合いをしてみました！！！いや~!重かった！

いや～本当に良い経験が出来ました。

Hello all Lucky Craft fans around the world~! This is the Daily Flash Minnow Report.
I went Bass fishing for the first time in a long time. My fishing location for this trip was at the Diamond Valley Lake in Southern California, which is also known to be a prospered bass fishing lake. And not only that!! This time I got to go fishing with the world famous FLW pro angler, Brent Ehler. So speaking of Diamond Valley, I haven’t had much good memories here. I’ve been here about 3-4 times so far and I probably only caught about 1 fish. So this is one of the lakes I assume having no Bass.
So I asked Brent what our target fish is and he said, “We will look for boiling Bass and will keep casting among that area!” As for the range, we mainly went for top surface water and used lures such as Gunfish and wiggly kinds.

Man~ so this method of aiming was a hit and I thought, “What a pro (about Brent of course)!” Within 3 hrs, we caught 5 Bass one after another! Wherever Brent would cast, there would always be a Bass there. Not only that! The size kept getting bigger and bigger! Brent was amazing! As for me, I didn’t get any hits! Brent, a very nice man he is, realized that and told me he will make sure I’ll catch one and I immediately tried out his way. Then after couple casting, I finally got a hit and caught a Bass!! It was my biggest one yet! (about 3.5 lbs) But I didn’t catch it with a hard bait so that doesn’t count in my record. Can everyone imagine how I caught this?? (If you leave your answer in my comment, I will secretly tell you the answer!)

At about an ending point of our day, we found a ridiculous amount of boils, we were all so surprised!!!
Without hesitating, we immediately cast to that area and at the same exact time, Brent and I got a hit!! I’ve never experienced such pull before and the bass kept swimming around! What should I do with the drag!? Loosen it! It was a Striped Bass! Without being impatient, I waited for Brent to pull his up first, and then I did the same.
We lined up our Bass together!!! It was so~ heavy!

Wow~ that was an amazingly fun experience.
Brent! Thank you so much always! One more tournament to go, I wish you the best! The Lucky Craft staff will all be wishing you the best as well.

SWBA Round 5 in Santa Barbara

世界中のラッキークラフトファンの皆さま～！Daily Flash Minnow Reportです。
今日は、南カルフォルニアにて開催されている、Salt Water Bass Anglers(SWBA)という大会を紹介したいと思います。本大会は、南カルフォルニアの6都市で開催され、唯一ＢＩＧ海釣り大会である。
ラウンド毎にルールや魚種規定などが定められており、2人組みで1エントリーとなっている。
一緒に組むパートナーに制限はなく、ＰＲＯ同士で賞金を狙う組もあり！アメリカらしく息子さんとのコミニュケーションのため組む選手いれば、夫婦でのエントリーも数多く見受けられる。
その中で、ラッキークラフトの海釣りＰＲＯ「ゲーリー＆ニック」が参加している大会でもある。

今回のリポートは後半戦を向かえる、第5戦サンタバーバラ大会の様子を少し紹介しましょう！

今回のメインフィッシュは、キャリコバスとサンドバス！！自分の良く行く乗り合い船からでは、絶対と言うほどこんなに大きなキャリコやサンドは、見たこと無いぐらいの大きいバスが次々と計量に掛けられ！ど迫力な大会である。おそらく！アングラーそれぞれにシークレットポイントがあると想像させられる。

Today I will like to talk about a tournament held in Southern California called the Salt Water Bass Anglers (SWBA). The main tournament is held in 6 cities of Southern California and it is a huge saltwater fishing tournament.
Every round the rules and fishing regulations is decided, and you need to be in a team of 2 people of entry.
There are no restrictions to who you team up with. There were entering teams who were both pros seeking for the championship prize to father/son and husband/wife teams to have a more bonding experience with one another.
Our Lucky Craft saltwater pro staff, Gerry and Nick has also entered in this competition.

For this time, I will talk about the 5th round of the tournament which was in the second half of the competition held in Santa Barbara.

The main fish for this 5th tournament was Calico Bass and Sand Bass!! I’ve been to this area many times myself, but I’ve never seen so many big Calico and Sand Bass! Everyone just kept catching big Basses and was sent to the scale. It was such an intense tournament. Perhaps! It is said that each anglers have their very own secret spots.

世界中のラッキークラフトファンの皆さま～！Daily Flash Minnow Reportです。さて！！今回からリポート方法を少し変え、ターゲット魚種を絞り、釣れるまで挑戦するという課題を取り入れて釣行！釣れるまで通い続ける！もちろん、ルアーのみ！！小細工なし！！！今回のターゲット魚種は「平目」！磯・サーフから良く釣れるという情報を得て、レドンドビーチの某スポット（釣果があり次第、場所を公表します！）まずは！とういう感じで、ＦＭ110からキャストすると、30分も掛からない内に、ボニート（歯カツオ）を連続ＧＥＴ！それから、釣果が無くなり、足を使って場所移動をするが、反応なし・・・夕方（干潮）を向かえ、このタイミングを狙ってこの日の一番良いスポットとされている所に移動し、再開！ルアーをシーフィンガーに変更！干潮時にＦＭ110を使用すると、ボトムを引きずってしまい、平目にプレッシャーを与えてしまう可能性があるので、表層を泳がせるためにシーフィンガー133を使用。90分間、キャストし続け,同行者の竹内さんがバラクーダ1匹をＧＥＴ。おまけでタコ1匹で日が暮れてたので終了！釣果は良かったが、平目がターゲットだったので、残念凹友人同行者が、平目を逃がしてしまったので、間違いなくポイントが合っているので、来週に期待心を込め！再チャレンジです　がんばるぞ～！今度はカラーでも変えようかな？？

“Halibut Round 1”

Lucky Craft fans around the world~, it’s again, time for the Daily Flash Minnow Report. From now on, I will be changing up my report style a bit. I am first going to limit the type of fish to target and then keep trying until I catch my target fish. Of course I’m only going to use lures!! No other tricks and nothing else involved!!! This time my target will be Halibut! At the seacoast, I got information that we can catch a lot around here. So I headed to the actual spot (I will give more detailed information on locations as long as I catch something!), and I first cast the FM110. And within 30min, I caught several Bonito! After that, I stopped getting anything so I started migrating by walking but no hits… The sun was going down (becoming low tide) so I used this time to go to the best spot of the day and resumed fishing! Changed my lure to a Sea Finger! Because when you use the FM110 during low tide, it will drag against the bottom and can cause too much pressure on the Halibut. So by using the Sea Finger 133, I can let it swim on surface. I cast for about 90min and my fishing mentor, Mr. Takeuchi caught a Barracuda. We caught an Octopus as well. After that, it was starting to get pretty late so we ended our fishing day there. Our catch was pretty good today, although we didn’t catch our target Halibut. However, another friend of mine who also came along with us got close to catching one so we know that we are at the right spot. It will be another challenge for next week as we have more hope now. I will try my best~! Maybe I will change up my colors next time??

世界中のラッキークラフトファンの皆さま～！Daily Flash Minnow Reportです。
またまた！レドンドからの釣行です。今回は、岩城さんと一緒に行って来ました！！
前回と同じく、ロッキーポイントといわれているケルプ地帯に到着！
FM130でキャストを始めると、バラクーダが幾度も追いかけてくるが、見切られ！残念
サイズを110に変更後、追いかけてくる様子はなくなり、サバを連続GET!!う～ん！
前回のことがあるので、物足りない！！
同行者の岩城さんは、相変わらず厳しい状況に関わらず、FM110でバラクーダをGET！
ただ巻きの少しゆっくりだったそうです！自分もキャストをしゆっくり目にリトリーブスピードを調整したが、何も掛からず！本日の釣行は終了！
今回は、思い切って他の釣り人に話を掛け「何で釣れないの?」と質問をした所、
「最近は潮の満ち干きが良くないだよ~!」それと「日々の水温急激な変化で、魚が移動してるんだ！」とアドバイスをしてくれた！
そこで、彼が言ってくれたのは、2週間後が言いそうだ!また、一緒に逢う約束をして
釣行で始めて仲良くなった日系人の釣り仲間が増えた!
岩城さんは今回！BIGなエイを釣り上げていた！！

今度は、2週間後に来てみよ～っと！
来週は、平目狙いで計画中!潮を見ておかなくては！！さて、どう調べよう！肝心のことを聞き忘れた！

“A Party of Pros!?”

Lucky Craft fans all around the world~! It is time for the Daily Flash Minnow Report.
It is again another fishing report from Redondo Beach, CA. This time I went with Mr. Iwaki!!
As same as last time, our destination was to the rocky point where it is also a kelp area!
I starting casting with a FM130 and a Barracuda kept chasing after it, but it realize what it was. What a disappointment.
I changed the size to a 110, but the Barracuda seemed to not chase after it anymore. Instead, I kept fishing Mackerels!
Hmmmmm! Since I got bad memories from last time, I’m not satisfied yet!!
Mr. Iwaki as usual, didn’t run into any difficult situations and caught a Barracuda with a FM110!! He had caught it with a slow retrieve. So I also casted and performed a slow retrieve, but caught nothing! And then our fishing day has ended!
This time I actually tried speaking to other fishermen and asked, “Why can’t I catch anything?” And then he advised me, “Well, lately the atmospheric condition hasn’t been good with the tides and due to the rapid change in water temperature the fishes are migrating elsewhere!”
He also mentioned that in 2 weeks it should be in good condition! We promised we’ll see each other next time and he is my very first fishing buddy, who is also a Nikkei (Japanese American), that I made since I started fishing!
Mr. Iwaki brilliantly caught a BIG Sting Ray as well!!

Next time I’ll come back here in 2 weeks~!
Next week I want to catch some Halibut, but I need to be more cautious about the tide condition!! Ok now, how will I research that! I forgot to ask the most important thing!

坊主！ボウズ！！

世界中のラッキークラフトファンの皆さま～！Daily Flash Minnow Reportです。
今回、友人と2人で釣行にいってまいりました！結果は・・・・・・凹でます。
なんと、2人して0です。う～ん何でだろう!?

ケルプ地帯にFM130(フラッシュミノー130)を投げ込んでも、魚が追っても来ません！！
ケルプパターンがまったく効かない！サイズを落としても、反応無し！！
他の釣り人達は、ライブベイトで28インチoverのバラクーダを連続Get!!
幾度もキャストし続けたが、やはり反応なし！完全に完敗です。
友人は、ライブベイトに釣り方を変更してから、当りを逃してしまったらしく残念そうでしたが、再度、リベンジを約束に二人で帰港しました。

友人は自宅に下ろした後、このままでは帰れぬ！！武士道根性で・・・
Redondo Beach Pier（ボニート）→Sunset Beach（平目）→Newport Beach（とりあえず1匹）と南下しながら釣行したが、まったく魚の当りすら無く魚をGETできずあえなく、自宅に戻り就寝！チ～～ン！！

“Caught Nothing!!”

Lucky Craft fans all around the world~! This is the Daily Flash Minnow Report.
This time, I went fishing with a friend of mine! In result……… ZERO.
Both of us got no catches. Hmmmm… I wonder why!?

I threw a FM130 by a kept bed, but no fish came close!!
My kept pattern didn’t work at all! I even switched to a smaller size, but again no response!! The other fishermen kept fishing 28inch and over Barracudas with a livebait!!
I kept continuing to cast, but absolutely no hit! I was completely defeated.
My friend changed to a livebait and was very close at catching one but failed… He seemed pretty bummed, but we promised each other we will come back again for revenge and then we returned to port.

After I took my friend home, I thought to myself “I can’t go home like this!!” It’s my Bushido (ie. Way of the Warrior) nature…
I moved South from Redondo Beach Pier (hoped to catch some Bonito) → Sunset Beach (hoped to catch some Halibut) → Newport Beach (hoped to catch at least one fish). But no luck what so ever. I ended up catching nothing today and I sadly went home and put myself to sleep!

深い！！

今週は釣り三昧です。

さて！今回はハードルアーではなく、７０ｍ以上の底にいるサンドダブ（小さい平目）とオコゼを釣りに行きました。

サンペドロ沖に約45分！やっとの事で釣り場に到着！周りの釣り人は、一斉に今回のターゲットである魚にラインを沈めているが、ラッキーの釣りレポーター魂なの、なぜか！フラッシュミノーをキャストしてみました！さすがに15分ぐらい投げ続けましたが、断念！ジギングに変更！変更後は、面白いほどに、釣れ！腕がパンパンに！剣道で鍛えてるのとは別でした！笑

LUCKYのルアーが使用できなかったのが残念だが、面白い釣りができたと思う！

今後未定だが、LUCKYから底物用ルアーができたらいいかも！！！

“Deep!!”

This week is fishing Sanmai (ie. a spiritual concentration)

Well then, this time I didn’t use a hard lure and aimed for some Sanddab and California Scorpionfish.

To the offshore of San Pedro, it took about 45 minutes! We finally got to the fishing spot! While the rest of the fishermen were starting to sink their lines to target their fish, for some reason my spirit as a Lucky Craft fishing reporter arose and I decided to cast a Flash Minnow! Although I kept trying for 15minutes, I ended up giving up! Changed to a jig and caught so many that my arms started to hurt! My arms strengthened by Kendo didn’t help! Haha

I was a bit disappointed that I couldn’t use a Lucky Craft lure, but I had a very fun fishing time!

My next trip is still pending, but it would be great if Lucky made a bottom lure until then!!!

Shell Spin

こんにちは！皆さん！！Daily Flash MinnowのFishing Reportです

今回は、レドンドビーチから出航の船に乗船して、カリコバス狙いで釣りに行ってきました。天候はカルフォルニア釣り日和！

今回は、Flash Minnow 110でサバばかり、爆釣しました。ウィードが多いいポイントのためルアーチェンジをして、ウィードの底にいるカリコバスに狙いを変更し、Shell Spinでカリコバス(8インチ)をGet。しかし、サイズが小さいため、リリース。その後、今回一緒に乗船した、岩城さんがBigサイズのサンドバス（15インチ）をGet!!

今回は、他のお客さんがWhite Sea Bassを釣り上げたポイント周辺を旋回していたため、

他のポイントに移動ができませんでした。思考を変え、底狙いに変更が釣果を上げる結果に結びついた。

次の機会には、Flash MinnowでWhite Sea Bass釣り上げるで～！

Hello everyone! This is the Daily Flash Minnow fishing report.

On this fishing trip, I boarded from Redondo Beach and sailed to catch some Calico Bass. Weather was perfect for some California fishing!

However with the Flash Minnow 110, I caught a bunch of Mackerel instead. Since there was a lot of kelp in the area I was fishing, I decided to change my lure to the Shell Spin so I can aim the Calico Bass underneath all the kept bed. Then within a short amount of time, I was able to catch an 8 inch Calico Bass. But since the size was too small, I had to let it go. This time I came with Mr. Iwaki and he later caught a big 15 inch Sand Bass!!

Since they kept rotating a certain area where everyone was fishing White Sea Bass, we weren’t able to move to a different location. I changed my method of aiming the surface and this change lead me to catch more fishes.

For next time, I will catch some Sea Bass with the Flash Minnow~!

始めまして！

始めまして！Lucky CraftビギナーアングラーことSandyです 
CA近郊沿岸を中心に、地元の釣果情報・大会結果リポートなどを毎週Blogで更新していきますので皆さん宜しくお願い致します！
初のレポートは、ＣＡにあるレドンドビーチ！
 
午後から出航のバラクーダ釣りに行ってきました。天候は抜群釣り日和！
出航して１５分、いよいよバラクーダのグットポイント、パロスバーデス沖合い
今回は、フラッシュミノー130ＭＲで、ファーストキャストでなかなか良いサイズのバラクーダをＧＥＴ！！幸先の良いスタート切れました！
釣果は、基本ただ巻きをしていましが、やはりストップした瞬間に喰いついて来た感じです。
 
FM130でその後、投げ続けましたが当りがなくなり、ルアーをFM110にチェンジしたところ、直後にＨＩＴ！ルアーを少し小さくしたのが効をそうした！その後、2匹連続でＨＩＴ！爆釣です！！！
 
今回は、ルアーＦＭ130とＦＭ110の2種類を投げましたが、カラーについては、
メタリックサーディンのみを投げ続けました。
 
今度は、違うカラーを使用して、どの色に良い反応をするのかリポートしたいと思います！
では、ＮＥＸＴ　ＢＬＯＧで！！　ＣＨＥＣＫ　ＩＴ　ＯＵＴ！！！！

“Hello!”

Hello! I will kindly like to introduce myself, my name is Sandy and I am a beginner angler. 

I will be in charge of this new project, the Weekly Flash Minnow Report!! 
I will be writing a weekly blog on my fishing trip concentrated at the California coastal districts. I will also be writing about information on local fishing reports, tournament results and many others. So everyone please stay tuned for more upcoming reports of mine! 
 
My very first report will be on my trip to Redondo Beach, CA! 
I went on a ship that sailed in the afternoon to catch some Barracuda. The weather was in an outstanding fishing condition! 15 minutes after sailing, we arrived at a good area for Barracuda fishing. We arrived at Palos Verdes coastal. 
 
I used the Flash Minnow 130MR, and on my first casting, I caught a pretty good sized Barracuda!! I got off to a good start! 
 
My overall catch was based on mostly slow retrieving and right when I stopped, they came biting. 
Afterwards I kept throwing in the FM130, but I got no hits so I decided to change it to the FM110. Then right after I changed it, I got a Hit! It was worth changing the lure to a smaller size! After that, I got 2 more hits back to back! I caught a lot!!! 
 
This time I used 2 types of lures: the FM130 & FM110. As for the colors, I only used the Metallic Sardine. 
Next time I will like to use other different colors to write a report on colors they react to best!
