Daily Flash Minnow in Japan企画！利根川編

利根川には、美津男さんとの新作ルアーテストと大会風景の撮影も兼ね、訪問させていただいた。

利根川といえは、年数回トーナメントが開催されており、『ＴＢＣ』利根川バスクラブに所属する事で、だれでも気軽に参加可能なトーナメントとなっている。丁度取材にいった時期は2010年度の『ＴＢＣクラシック』の真っ最中、撮影には絶好のチャンスでありまた、ＴＢＣエントリー選手のＴＯＰ30のみが参加できるトーナメントなので、好試合が予想された。本来なら美津男さんもこのトーナメントに参加できる資格があるのだが仕事の都合上、不参加。

しかし、大会サポートとし本業を早めに終え、司会を務めていた。地元のアングラー皆で大会を盛り上げている証拠でもあった。トーナメントの模様は、12月号Enjoynetwork DVDからご覧いただけますのでそちらをご利用ください。

トーナメントの結果はタフなコンディションの中、大石選手が3本！リミットメイクには届かなかったが、ＢＩＧフィッシュ賞も取り、優勝に輝いた！！前日から水温が下がり、ハードベイトでは厳しい状況で、ソフトルアーが勝利に結びついたと本人は言う。また、ポイントについては『対岸』というポイントで1日中、釣り続けたとの事。

表彰式後、年間総合優勝『ＡＯＹ』の発表では、我が利根川の達人美津男さんも4位の好成績で、今年のＴＢＣを締めくくった。美津男さんこれからも、がんばってください！！

This is the Daily Flash Minnow report from Tone River (Tonegawa), Japan!

I had visited the Tone River with Mr. Mitsuo to accomplish some lure testing and filming of the tournament scenes. This is the place where tournaments are held several times a year. And when you become a member of the “TBC Tonegawa Bass Club”, anyone can easily participate in tournaments. Coincidently when I was there, it was right on time for the “2010 TBC Classic” – a great opportunity to do some filming. The top 30 anglers were only allowed to participate in this particular TBC tournament so a very exciting competition was expected. Mr. Mitsuo was also qualified to participate in this tournament, but due to his primary profession, unfortunately he was not able to.

However, he had finished early and was able to participate in this event as a tournament supporter – as an MC. It showed how all the local anglers came together to support this tournament. For more details of the tournament, please take a look at the next “December Enjoy Network” DVD.

As for the result, out of a tough condition Mr. Oishi caught 3! It did not quite make the limit make, but he did receive a “Big Fish” award and had won the tournament!!  Mr. Oishi had said that since the day before, water temperature had decreased and became a tough condition for hard baits, so soft baits led him to victory. He also shared with us that he kept fishing only at this one spot called “Taigan (Opposite Shore)” all day long.

After the award ceremony, for the “AOY” presentation of this year’s overall champion, our Tonegawa master, Mr. Mitsuo had gotten 4th place! He ended this year with a wonderful result at the TBC Classic. “Mr. Mitsuo, I will be wishing you the best!!”

Daily Flash Minnow in Japan企画！利根川編

神奈川県から茨城県撮影移動し、今度はラッキークラフトのプロスタッフでもある、利根川の達人こと、鈴木美津男さんの所に来年配達予定のネットワークメンバーさん限定！ルアーのテストと新商品のMitsuo Crankの最終テストをしに行くことになった。

This is the Daily Flash Minnow report from Tone River (Tonegawa), Japan!

We moved from Kanagawa prefecture to Ibaragi while filming and had gone lure testing with the Tonegawa expert and Lucky Craft pro angler, Mr. Suzuki Mitsuo! The testing was for the limited lures which were scheduled to be delivered next year only to the network members! Also, the final testing on our new product: the “Mitsuo Crank”!

Speaking of Mr. Mitsuo, you say “Tone Splash”! The top specialist! No, I shall say he is the master!! And I got the opportunity to spend a dream-like time fishing with him. The lure testing of the new product was important also, but I was so overwhelmed by his cast accuracy and his excellent hand rhythm, I couldn’t take my eyes off of it all day. Gladly Mr. Mitsuo had given us an approval on the limited lures for the network members, so just for whom comes and visit this Daily FM site; I will like to share a sneak-peek at this product with you!!! Unfortunately, I won’t be able to show the “Mitsuo Crank” not quite yet!! Sorry!

However, we will be introducing it on the December Enjoy Network DVD, so please check it out!!!

“Introducing”

This is the Daily Flash Minnow in Japan project! This is a continuation from my experience at a man-made pond.

An instructor, Mr. Nagai from “Fish On!” had kindly taught me in such a way where even beginners could have understood him very easily. He is also very famous in the Trout fishing industry. He had given us lessons on line tests before fishing and some explanation on why the needle hooks or doesn’t hook. His instructions were very theoretically correct and again very easy to understand. I highly recommend taking these lessons as well.

東京湾でのシーバスに続き、またまた初体験！川崎市にある、Fish. On！王禅寺さんにトラウト釣りを経験するべくお邪魔させて頂きました。トラウトといえば、ラッキークラフトの空前のHit商品！クラ・ピーシリーズ。
今回はディープクラ・ピーを使用し、レンタルロッドを借りて釣行する事に！トラウト釣りで1番重要な、『一定の速度で・レンジキープ』を念頭に入れ、行ってみたがこれが難しい～！感情が入ってしまい、一定の速度で巻いているつもりでも、実際には早かったり・遅かったりバラつきがあり、常に一定のレンジではなかなか引けない・・開始１０分はまったく当たりがなく、見切られる！そこで永井さんの講習を受け、再開！キャスト後のルアーの深度を一定にさせるためのポイントやロッドの角度など、大まかな部分に注意を払うだけで・・・なんと不思議！バイトがありGETする事ができる。簡単に釣るためのポイントなどは、実際に王禅寺さんに行ってみていただければ、親切丁寧に釣れるまで教えてくれると思いますのでぜひ！遊びに行ってみてください。

This is the Daily Flash Minnow in Japan project! This time it is a report on my experience fishing at a mad-made pond.
After fishing Sea Bass in Tokyo Bay, another first time experience! I had visited a place called “Fish. On! Ouzenji” located in Kawasaki to experience some Trout fishing. And speaking of Trout fishing, it has got to be Lucky Craft’s unprecedented hit product! The Cra-Pea series. This time around, I used the Deep Cra-Pea and rented a rod! The most important thing in Trout fishing is “Keeping at a constant speed and range keeping”. I kept that in mind and started fishing, but it was a pretty tough thing to do~! I began to put too much feeling into what I was doing, and even when I meant to be reeling at a constant speed, it was actually too fast or slow. I had no consistency and I wasn’t able to pull it with a constant range as well…. I had absolutely no hits after 10 minutes from start, they saw right through me! So Mr. Nagai had given me some lessons and I resumed fishing! Just by paying close attention to some important points such as the way to keep the lure in a constant depth after casting and the angle of the rod… a miracle happened! I got a bite and I was able to catch some. “Ouzenji” had taught me good points on how to fish so easily and you can experience it yourself by visiting them! They teach you in a very courteous manner and will probably keep trying until you catch one! So please try visiting and have a fun time!

Daily Flash Minnow in Japan企画！東京湾シーバス編Part2。

今回東京湾シーバス、一旦食事休憩をし、午後の釣行では空港鉄橋下ではなく、いわゆるストラクチャー・壁際を狙った釣行になった。東京湾沖にある作業用に建設されている鉄塔周り・湾戸にある貨物船停泊用壁際を攻めることになり、ここでも爆釣結果を齎した。午前とは違いロングキャストというよりも、１０ｍ以内の障害物ギリギリの所に正確にキャストし、引く事がポイントであった。初の壁打ちだったので水面と障害物の間、約１ｍの所にルアーを放り込む事ができなく、技量不足の僕では、ルアーを壁などに直撃させてしまい、貴重なルアーを壊すハメになり、改めて自分の技量未熟さを気づかされる事が経験できた。アメリカの広大な海では、キャストするポイントをそこまで意識せずに、取り組んでいたので、日本での釣りの厳しさを学んだ。この経験を生かし、ストラクチャーへのキャストをイメージした上での、帰国後にキャスト練習に取り組む課題ができた。

Daily Flash Minnow in Japan project! This is the Tokyo Bay Sea Bass report part 2!

Continuing my report on Tokyo Bay Sea Bass fishing, we then decided to take a lunch break. In the afternoon, instead of fishing under the airport runway, we went fishing in a structured area and wall sides. I was aiming around other steel towers which were built among some sort of operation located off shore of Tokyo Bay. Also aimed at a wall side which was for cargo ships, and here I caught so many. Instead of long casting like this morning, I casted within 10m close to the barriers, precisely aiming and pulling back was the key. It was my first time fishing at a wall side area so I wasn’t able to throw the lure between the water surface and obstacles which was only about 1m wide. So as an unskillful angler like me, I hit the lure against the wall and broke a valuable lure. But with this experience, I’ve realized how inexperienced I still am. In the vast ocean of America, I never thought of casting to such a particular point which also made me realize the toughness of fishing in Japan. However with this experience, I would like to practice back home (in America) my casting skills while imagining casting in the structured areas of Japan.

Tokyo Bay – Part 1

今回東京湾での釣行には、ESG系が強い御二方、ラッキークラフトの（瀧田さん・知之さん）である。

東京湾を出航し、約４０分・・・ド本命のポイント！羽田空港新滑走路鉄塔下に！滑走路付近４０メートルは立ち入り禁止区域であり、黄色い鉄塔から空港下の鉄塔めがけて、５０メートルのロングキャスト！！鉄塔下（2本目）までルアーが届かないとまったくバスが反応しない！そこで、バリッドの登場！鉄塔の奥まで余裕で届き！後は、シーバスをGETするのみ！！・・・・バックン！いままでには感じた事のない衝撃！キタキタキタ～！！初シーバスGET!!!!!

ある程度どんな状況で鉄塔下脇をギリギリで通すことで高い確率でHITしてくる事は分かった。その日の流れに方向、風の方向を考え、キャストし、潮の流れを読んで引く、この日は鉄塔左を狙うと釣果に繋がった。

Daily Flash Minnow in Japan project! This is the Tokyo Bay Sea Bass report.

This time in Tokyo Bay, I had gone fishing with the 2 people who are incredibly skillful with the ESG series: Lucky Craft staff member, Mr. Takita & Mr. Tomoyuki.

We had departed off Tokyo bay for about 40min… and finally arrived at our main fishing spot! Under the new runway at Haneda Airport Tower! 40m near the runway is a restricted fishing area. From the yellow tower to the steel poles underneath the airport runway, I made a 50m long cast!! I get absolutely no effect from the Bass unless my lure reaches all the way underneath the runway (my 2nd cast). So this is when the Varid comes in! It reached deep into the area I was aiming for with no problem at all! Now I just need to catch a Sea Bass!!…. I got a bite! It was an impact I’ve never felt before! It finally came~!! My very first Sea Bass!!!!!

To a certain extent, I learned that at any situation, when casting barely through the steel poles, there is a high change you get a hit. Considering the water flow and the direction of the wind, I cast and started pulling while examining the tide flow as well. On this day, aiming around the left side of the steel poles lead me to catches.

This is the first report of the “Daily Flash Minnow IN JAPAN” project! I will like to talk about some information on a boat ride in Tokyo Bay.
My very first fishing in Japan was at Tokyo Bay! And speaking of Tokyo Bay, it’s got to be Sea Bass! And speaking of Sea Bass, we say SEAKURO!!! SEAKURO is always booked with reservations in Tokyo Bay and we got to go fishing with them for a day. The captain of SEAKURO, Mr. Okamoto is very famous for guiding people to the best fishing points for Sea Bass, weather it is lure fishing and/or fly fishing. He also personally loves Sea Bass fishing!! Captain Okamoto has told us that on a good conditioned day, you can easily catch over 50 of them in one day! And as he got us very excited we started filming and testing our new lure.

世界中のラッキークラフトファンの皆さま～！Daily Flash Minnow Reportです。
いや～ひさしぶりのバス釣り！今回はCA南部にあります。VAIL LAKEという所に行ってきました。
VAIL Lakeは、年間＄1500を支払うことで、年間自由に釣りをできる会員制湖なだけに、釣り人も少なく、プレッシャーが少ない！バス釣りが下手な人でも、3匹以上釣れるといわれている。同行者は、OPTIMUMBAITのマット！
開始早々、１００ｍｍ前後のジャークベイト系でガイドさんが次々とGET！そして・・・自身初の念願！バス釣りでのラッキークラフトルアーで、バスGET!!使用ルアーは先日、訪問した際に、大森さんから伝授してもらった、バイブ（LVR）リフトANDフォール！リフトを少しし、フォール中に喰うという鉄板パターン！大森さん！！ありがとうございます。
その後、所々に起きるボイルに、ポインターやスイミング・スピナーと投げ続けたが、最後に喰ったのはOPTIMUMBAITとのコラボ品ワンダースイム（名称未定）にチャターベイト（紫X青）をつけ、ずる引き系。この日3匹GET！
日ごろから、こんなに釣れれば楽しいのに！やっぱりバスは面白い！

It’s been awhile since my last Bass fishing! This time I went to Vail Lake which is located in Southern California.
People pay $1,500 annually for a lake membership to be able to fish freely all year long at this Vail Lake. So there are very few fishermen which means you have less pressure! Even if you are not good at fishing, here they say you can catch more than 3 fishes.
I came here with Mat from Optimum Baits!
Immediately after starting, our guide kept catching about 100mm size fishes with a Jerkbait! And finally… my long time wish has finally came true! Catching a Bass with a Lucky Craft lure!! As for the lure I used, when I had visited Mr. Omori (as mentioned in my previous reports), he had kindly instructed me the “lift & fall” action with the LVR (Vibration)! You slightly lift it and the fish will bite while you let it fall! What an ultimate pattern! Mr. Omori!! Thank you very much.
Afterwards, I kept throwing in lures such as Pointers and Spinnerbaits to the several existing boils. But the lure that caught it was the Optimum Baits collaboration product: the Wander Swim (official name yet undecided) which I also attached a Chatter Bait (Purple & Blue) to. A bit of a cheating product… But I did catch 3 today!
I wish I could catch like this all the time! Bass fishing is so much fun!

世界中のラッキークラフトファンの皆さま～！Daily Flash Minnow Reportです。
今回は特別企画として、3弾に分けたＴＸ日記の最後の第3弾になります。前回に引き続き、大森さん特集です。今回は少し大森さんのプライベートを紹介したいと思います。大森さん家には驚くことに、ルアーの泳ぎをチェックするためだけのプールがある！実際に人が入る事は無いプールである。さらに、プールと言えば通常、人が上り下りするため梯子が無く、本来であれば徐々に深くなるはずのプールの水深は、何処の場所でも3メートル以上深い！これは、キャストをしダイブモデルなどをテストするような設計になっていると大森さんは語る。さすが、チャンプ！ルアーの泳ぎを確認するためにここまで・・あっぱれであった。旅の最終日の夕食では、大森さんのお宅から1時間ほどに在住しておられる宮崎プロとお会いする機会に恵まれ！二日間で4人のもバスプロの選手と出会い、たのしく充実した旅であった。最後の日記はLuckeycraftファンの皆様だけにいち早く告知！皆さん大大ニュースです。今回、僕が行きましたテキサツ2日間の旅！！ T.Oこと大森貴洋選手のトーナメントで実際に使用していた、YAMAHAロゴ入り更に、ロッドの擦れなどが付いた、大森さんサイン入りシャツを限定1名様に、プレゼントします！抽選方法は？？という質問！！ご安心ください日本で行います。そして、来年2月に開かれます、東京・大阪フィッシングショーにて厳正な抽選方法をもちいて決定します！！必ず、当日Luckyブースにお立ち寄り頂き、楽しみにしていてください。

This is the final report of my trip to Texas. It is a continuation from last time; a special report on my visit to Mr. Omori’s place. This time I would like to talk a little bit about Mr. Omori’s personal life. At Mr. Omori’s house, I was extremely surprised to see a pool just for testing lures! It is not for people to swim in. This pool doesn’t have a ladder which usually exists in pools. And also, regular pools would have shallow to deep areas, but this one was over 3m in depth only! Mr. Omori has explained to us that this pool is designed only to cast and test diving models. What a champion! It is amazing how much he would do to test and experiment lures… I was speechless. On the last day of my trip for dinner, I had a wonderful opportunity to meet pro angler Mr. Miyazaki who lived about an hour away from Mr. Omori’s place. In 2 days, I met 4 amazing Bass pro anglers and had an unbelievable trip. Lastly, only for Lucky Craft fans I would like to inform you with some exciting news! On this 2 day Texas trip!! Pro angler, Takahiro Omori’s (a.k.a. T.O.) shirt actually used in tournaments, includes Yamaha logo, and a rod scrape mark that he has autographed is going to be given away to one person! You want to know the way to enter to win this one and only shirt?? Don’t worry, it will be announced in Japan. On February of next year at the Fishing Show held in Tokyo and Osaka, the prizewinner will be chosen by a fair draw! So please stop by at our Lucky Craft booth, we will be waiting!
