待ちに待ったこの日が来ました。サンディエゴからのオーバーナイト！！めざせ！黒マグロフィッシング！
日々マグロの打ち上げカウント数が減っていく中、同僚のＴ氏とサンディエゴから夜中に移動し、遠く南へ90マイル！そこはマグロの楽園メキシコ沖に到着！
今回の釣行では、表層付近を回遊する、イエローテール・ドラド、運がよければマグロが表層に回遊して来たチャンスに、より遠くへキャストが可能な高重量・ウエイト移動システムが搭載されている、FM190SR – PT140（ウエイト移動なし）- PT128SRをメインにルアーをチョイス！
朝6時のスタートからボートは北に舵を戻しながら、ケルプを見つけては、ストップしルアーもしくはライブベイトを打ち込んでいく方法で釣行に望んだ、まず、朝一のケルプストップにより、Ｔ氏からPT128SRでキャスト開始！表層で喰わないと確信をし、誰よりも早くジグロッドに持ち替え、ジグを落とし込んで行くと！ なんとファースキャストで改心の当たりが来て、幸先良くイエローフィンツナをゲット！！その後キャプテンの指示により『水深30ftに魚影の反応がある！』、とのアナウンスがあったが、すでに釣れない状況だった。
マグロを釣るためには、いち早く状況を判断し戦略を変える事によって釣果に繋がることが確認できた。
さらに！お隣でPT128SRをキャストしていた、Ｆ氏にも遅れて当たりがあり、良型のドラド（シイラ）表層でヒット！！
同時に釣り上げたので、二人で記念写真です！！

This day finally came! An over-night fishing trip from San Diego!! My goal is to catch some Bluefin Tuna!
Even when the number of Tuna fished is decreasing everyday; my partner T and I headed further South for over 90 miles from San Diego in the middle of the night! Our destination was a Tuna fishing paradise in Mexico!
On this fishing trip, fishes such as Yellow Tail & Dorado often migrate to the surface area and if we are lucky, so does Tuna. To aim for such moment, I decided to use a lure that is capable for far casts like the Flash Minnow 190SR where it contains an internal weight-transfer system. I also decided to use the Pointer 140 & Pointer 128SR (no weight-transfer system) as my main lure choice of the day!
Starting at 6am the boat headed north and we would stop every time we found kelps to throw in lures and/or live baits for some people. At our very first kelp stop, T casted the Pointer 128SR and realized they weren’t biting in the surface area. So he was actually the very first one switching to a jig rod and started to cast the jig. And on his very first cast, he caught a Yellowfin Tuna!!! Afterwards the captain announced that there are signs of fish 30ft under. However, by then the condition was pretty tough already.
To be able to catch a Tuna I learned it is important to quickly figure out the condition and change your strategy to what best fits the situation.
Also! Right next to me, F was casting with the Pointer 128SR also and caught a good size Dorado. He caught it in the surface area!!
Since they both caught one, we took some pictures with it together!!
