DFM Video Day 1

August 28th, 2012

The DFM team was excited this saturday morning at Long Beach Jetty to shoot the video. I (Peter) started off using the new LC Blade Cross to test out and show the action, while Sandy was on the camera and Raney was using the LC Flash Pointer 115. We were there at greylight and fished for about an hour with each of our lures to see if we could entice a halibut to bite but none were having it. Sandy told us to go to our go to lures we use at this jetty and Raney and I both switched to the LC FM 120 Deep Diver. I have had a lot of success with this lure at this jetty and I eventually picked up a small halibut. Raney and I had a fun contest going on to see who would catch the first fish would have the other pay for lunch that day. I took the prize and ended up with the day for 2 halibuts. Raney had no luck but got one bite that didn’t stick. The jetty was crowded that day and the fishing was slow for us and everyone around us. The tide we fished was incoming high tide and there were a lot of bait jumping earlier inthe morning but disappeared after an hour. It was a beautiful, sunny day in Long Beach but the fishing was just not there.
