This lure is used to mainly attack the range below the visible range. Its shape is specially designed for jerking and stopping motions, compared to cranks and deep minnows. This conical shape produces distinctive surface and point effects. Specifically, the surface of the lure draws the attention of fish, and as the fish passes the rear of the lure is seen very small, like a point. Fish have the tendency to keep a certain distance from any unknown object, so when something suddenly changes to a point, the fish naturally reduces the distance from that point. Eventually, in many cases the fish will bite the lure. For example, even when you can’t visually confirm a school of fish, you can still probe the reaction of small fish as long as you have a fish finder. In many cases it’s impossible to know whether these small fish are being chased by a fish eater, but one advantage of the Shad is that it can always produce movements within this school of fish to attract fish eaters. If small fish are in a neutral state where they aren’t being attacked, in most cases fish eaters nearby are surely swimming by paying attention to these fish. This standstill situation is probably encountered frequently in fishing spots, where the Shad can stimulate such situation. To describe the technique using rough words, it would be as follows: “The Shad can be used to kick around small fish to turn on fish eaters nearby.” To turn on fish eaters, you must be able to turn on/off rattle and change the size. Additionally, the reflective coating and reflective center plate are important. The appeal of the Bevy Shad is that it’s the only system that supports further segmentation and refinement.
This is the only lure that lets you perform jerking, stopping and other actions freely, as well as set a desired range, when casting it after deciding on the target line. Basically, it can be used in a manner whereby you constantly pull the line and seldom stop the lure, regardless of the season. Speed control is important. Both the range and action are influenced by the speed. In winter you should aim at deeper areas, and we are currently developing new types that can go deeper. In regard to the depth, the lineup of the Bevy Shad series is explained below. The most balanced of all is the original type, which is neither too violent nor overly tame but provides a high degree of freedom in terms of how it can be used. On the other hand, the silent type is a rare gem that doesn’t generate sound pressure but simulates a small fish with rolling action, like a minnow, to induce a bite. The noisy type is the Bone Bevy-Shad, which is a violent crank bait. You can use this aptly designed lure to kick around small fish to disturb the school or simulate an intruder entering the territory to draw the attention of fish over a wide range.
